After missing last season, Kendrick Nunn still has to debut with the Los Angeles Lakers in an official game. And just when it seemed like he was recovering in time as the rumored starting lineup had his name on it, now it looks like he would miss the beginning of the regular season.
The only sign of optimism for Kendrick's comeback was when Head Coach Darvin Ham stated last week that he looked great in individual workouts. Later this week was reported that Nunn was cleared for team workouts.
Still, there hasn't been clarity about Nunn participating in 5-on-5 workouts or if he'll be ready to go to the start of training camp. So Kendrick's return is still in the air.
Even when Kendrick has stated that he is doing 100%, nothing has been released supporting that statement. For instance, everything is pointing to Nunn missing another regular season beginning.
Austin Reaves is another young guard who could take the opportunity of Kendrick's missing games because of his injury. Reaves is about to start his second season with the Lakers. Even when HC Darvin Ham had said that he would use Pat Bev and Russ West simultaneously, Nunn was the first option for starter, and now it looks like that is time for Austin Reaves. Still, training camp is about to start in a couple of weeks, and Ham could change his mind.
