This offseason for the Los Angeles Lakers has been about a possible Russell Westbrook trade, but nothing has yet happened. Instead, the front office continues to look for new options for a possible move as they want to complete building their roster for the season.
The last rumor has the Lakers executives in 'ongoing negotiations with the Utah Jazz for a possible trade of Russell Westbrook for veterans Jordan Clarkson and Bojan Bogdanovic. So now there is another viable option for the LA franchise.
An NBA executive has the possible solution for all the Lakers' problems. One that if gets through, both parties would win. The exec spoke with Sean Deveney of Heavy.com to break down the potential move. For this exec, it would be a 1-for-4 trade that even could work from a financial standpoint.
“Send back Alec Burks and Nerlens Noel and Kelly Olynyk and Kemba Walker. The Lakers would be doing a 1-for-4 deal there, so they'd have to move guys around. … You have some tradeable contracts and some veterans you can use for depth. I'd consider it on both sides." Said the Executive. This deal hasn't the most prominent names for a contending team for the championship, but it could work out.
During the week, Russell Westbrook is still open to the idea of being traded and moving away from Los Angeles. Russ has even listed his LA house for sale, so everything is starting to line up for a possible exit.
