Not only was the Los Angeles Lakers icon Shaquille O´Neal a great player, but he also was a good teammate; he wasn´t all that obsessed like Kobe Bryant about being the best but took his career in basketball as something serious.
Shaq had all kinds of teammates in his extensive career inside the NBA, but one player, in particular, earned O´Neal the title of being his worst teammate ever. This happened when Shaq entered his prime; no, he was all about winning.
And while you may have forgotten, as he was most known for playing in the Chicago Bull alongside Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman had a season wearing the Lakers jersey. During the 1998-199 season, Rodman played only 23 games before being released.
For Shaq, what made Rodman the worst teammate, even a great player, was that even the players had to be one hour before the game; Dennis came in 15 minutes before the game and ate chicken and rice. Then, while the coaches were talking, he would jump in the shower. So for Shaq, Rodman was a nightmare of a teammate.
With the story being told from Shaq, it makes more sense that Rodman once revealed that Kobe Bryant and Shaq were jealous during his time with the purple and gold. Dennis said, “So I started playing with Kobe and Shaq and stuff like that. So I would come to the stadium, and people would come to see me because they hadn´t seen me in six months. So Kobe and Shaq would be so envious of me. They couldn´t stand me on that damn team.”
