After a disappointing trade deadline for the LA Lakers fans the team's organization stood pat and decided to bet on continuity as they didn't make a single move. GM Rob Pelinka opened up about teams asking for the Lakers' higher prices for mid-players so they decided to keep their current roster as built in the offseason.

But were aggressive in the buyout market and were fast to make a move by signing the point guard Spencer Dinwiddie as soon as he cleared waivers. Everything pointed out for it to happen, especially with Spencer attending the game between the Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans as he was alongside GM Rob Pelinka.

Now that Spencer has officially accepted the Lakers deal and will be going back to Los Angeles, his hometown, Pelinka has spoken about how the adding of the point guard helps the team.

“Spencer is returning to his roots and the city where his journey began… His play-making and aggressiveness from the guard position provide us valuable depth as we continue our strong push toward the back half of the season.” Said Rob Pelinka.

The Lakers are shorthanded and hopeful that a fully healthy roster could have a championship run

Without four key players, the Lakers got the win over the Pelicans. Ham and his coaching staff believe that once Max Christie, Jarred Vanderbilt, Cam Reddish, and Gabe Vincent fully recover and are back can make the team the contending group they believe they are, plus the soon addition of Spencer Dinwiddie.
