The Los Angeles Lakers got another victory this Friday night when the team was able to get back on track by defeating the San Antonio Spurs that had Victor Wembanyama on a great level as the rookie scored 27 points, had 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 5 steals.

Still, the night belonged to LeBron James and the Lakers as the 39-year-old superstar continues to be as dominant as ever and keeps breaking all kinds of records. During the game, he became the third LA Laker with the most number of scored 3-pointers, but now he is pursuing another milestone.

Last season, James broke the scoring record previously held by the showtime-era Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. This year, James is close to getting to the outstanding mark of 40,000 scored points, something no other player has done in NBA history.

LeBron James is so close that he is only 102 points away from making it to the 40K mark. With the Average James is scoring this season, LeBron should be getting that record in around 4 more games.

The Lakers had their best starting five against the Spurs

Before the All-Star break, the Lakers' best starting five of the campaign have been D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, LeBron James, Rui Hachimura, and Anthony Davis. After having Taurean Prince as a starter vs. the Warriors because of LeBron's absence, vs. the Spurs, Ham can return to that lineup to get back where they left things for the All-Star break.
