The Los Angeles Lakers were fast to act in the buyout market after having a trade deadline flop by standing pat when numerous trades were rumored like a trade for Dejounte Murray, Zach LaVine, Alex Caruso, and more.

GM Rob Pelinka this time, didn't hesitate and met with Dinwiddie to "seduce" him and make him sign with the Lakers as soon as he cleared waivers. One particular Laker has been excited about the arrival of the point guard, and that is D'Angelo Russell.

Following the impressive win over the New Orleans Pelicans, D'Angelo Russell said "I'm a fan. Y'all will get to know him soon." There is now a video released that shows D'Lo excited when he sees his former teammate Spencer who will reunite with him in LA.

Spencer Dinwiddie is a Los Angeles native so it was a no-brainer for him to sign with the Lakers and now the team finally gets a backup point guard for D'Lo as Gabe Vincent continues to be out without a returning date.

The Lakers' pursuit of Murray could potentially help them to land Young in the summer

Trae Young could become available if the team underwhelms down the stretch of the 2023-24 season and he is someone the Lakers have long had an interest in: “The Lakers certainly won’t limit their thinking to Murray. Several front offices listened to Atlanta’s pre-deadline chatter and came away from conversations with the Hawks of the belief Trae Young could become available for trade this summer — depending on Atlanta’s outcome for the remainder of this campaign.” Young currently is making 40 million per year.
