Following the loss to the Phoenix Suns, it was made evident one more time that the team is far from where they are hoping to be, and with the front office supporting coach Darvin Ham in his role, the next step is to go for a trade ahead of the deadline.

The Lakers are expected to seriously pursue Dejounte Murray, per Chris B. Haynes: “The Lakers want to push the pace offensively and someone who can serve as a point-of-attack defender.

Rival executives believe the Lakers and Raptors, to name a few, will begin progressing to more serious discourse with the Atlanta Hawks pertaining to star guard DeJounte Murray, sources say.”

The pathway to get Murray is Austin Reaves, and while the Lakers have stated the guar is untouchable, Bogdan Bogdanovic could be part of the trade that can seduce the purple and gold to get it done, still, nothing is set in stone yet.

D'Angelo Russell gave a shot to Darvin Ham in the loss to the Suns

"I think we're a team, we're still figuring things out. We're still mixing and matching lineups...Last year is a prime example of this team not being where they wanted to be. We got some new energy and some new vibes and it got us to where we ended off last year. You can still see light at the end of the tunnel. You just have to keep getting better," said D'Lo in the post-game presser following the blowout loss to the Suns.
