A lot has been speculated about LeBron James joining the team that selects his son Bronny James in the 2024 NBA Draft or the year he gets drafted, and recently former NBA player Austin Rivers gave his opinion on why the younger James should not play alongside his father, comparing it with his experience when entered the league.

Rivers said on the situation: “I don’t want to see Bronny play with his dad. I went through something similar… What happens is that everyone starts to discredit everything that you’ve done… I don’t want that negativity to come his way, he doesn’t deserve it.”

Austin also said that in the case of Bronny, it could get worse as LeBron James is one of the greatest players in NBA history with only Michael Jordan being on the same level, which would be unfair to Bronny.

But Stephen Jackson recently gave his two cents on Austin Rivers’ comments been rougher than what fans could expect: “And your daddy not LeBron. Shut up. Difference is you trash, Bronny not. You can’t compare to him scrub.”

LeBron James will become a free agent at the end of this season

One thing that allows LeBron James and his son Bronny to play in the same team in the NBA is that the Lakers superstar will become a free agent and if he waits to see what team drafts his son, a possibility opens for him to sign with the same franchise too.
