D'Angelo Russell being traded with the Atlanta Hawks for Dejounte Murray with a 3rd team involved has been the move that has been the most rumored in recent weeks, but with less than 48 hours to the NBA's trade deadline, nothing has been set in stone.

With D'Lo continuing to be named as the potential trade asset for the Lakers in this trade market, new potential landing spots have been revealed, two more outside of the already mentioned Atlanta Hawks.

“Russell’s name has been mentioned in trade talks with the Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, and Atlanta Hawks in recent weeks, sources told ESPN, while the point guard managed to play some of the best basketball of his career,” wrote Dave McMenamin.

Lakers fans don't want D'Angelo Russell to be traded, especially after the last stretch of games where the point guard has been the third star of the team and sometimes even the best player and has great chemistry with guard Austin Reaves.

The Lakers have a 3-winning streak but continue to struggle

Despite the recent 3-game winning streak, the Lakers are in ninth place in the Western Conference, leading to speculation that they are looking to improve and will make a trade before the deadline on Thursday. Russell looked like an expendable trade piece when he was removed from the starting lineup earlier in the season. Now, based on his improved play, he could be moved because his value might be higher. He has a player option on his contract for next season.
