Adrian Wojnarowski recently revealed the Golden State Warriors and the Philadelphia 76ers tried to make a trade with the LA Lakers for LeBron James, but the superstar will continue to play for the purple and gold. And while both teams would make another attempt in the summer when the star is set to become a free agent, James appears to want to stay in LA.

Still, Stephen Curry and LeBron James have talked to each other about playing together under Steve Kerr's coaching as revealed by ESPN's Brian Windhorst. Of course, this is outside the NBA and will be for Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

James was pursued by both the Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers at the trade deadline. The four-time champion could have many suitors in the offseason if he declines his player option for the 2024-25 season.

“The Warriors could revisit a pursuit in the offseason when James holds a $51.4 million player option on his contract for 2024-25,” Wojnarowski and Shelburne wrote. “If James returns to the Lakers, he’ll likely do so by declining that option and re-signing with LA on a new deal that would allow him an annual raise. James remains focused on returning to the Lakers in the offseason, sources told ESPN, but undoubtedly there will be many of these same suitors — including Golden State and Philadelphia — emerging to make cases to convince James otherwise.”

The Warriors made an unsuccessful bid to pair LeBron with Curry at Golden State

“Over a clandestine 24-hour window prior to the trade deadline last Thursday that included owner-to-owner conversations, the Golden State Warriors made an unsuccessful bid to convince the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James to consider a trade to pair him with longtime rival Stephen Curry, sources told ESPN,” Wojnarowski and Shelburne wrote.
