After being unable to make a move by the trade deadline, the LA Lakers could sign Spencer Dinwiddie in the buyout market thanks to the extra money they had after saving some of their MLE from their contract with PG Gabe Vincent.

Without Vincent, who has played only five games out of 55 in the season so far, the team needed a backup point guard and Dinwiddie is that player who could help being another ball handler, and shotmaker, especially with the team being shorthanded as they have been in the last few games.

But, when does Spencer is going to make his debut? According to NBA insider Dave McMenamin of ESPN "New story: Spencer Dinwiddie is expected to sign with the Lakers on Sunday, practice on Monday, and be in uniform for their game Tuesday against Detroit, giving a lift while LAL is still dealing with injuries to several key contributors.”

Dinwiddie has a chance to hit the ground running. He's currently averaging 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. Considering the Lakers are facing some injury problems, the veteran guard should be heavily utilized to begin his career in LA. So fans are expected to see him as soon as tomorrow's game vs. the Detroit Pistons.

Spencer Dinwiddie is the only move made by the Lakers in the trade deadline-buyout market

Dinwiddie was the only significant acquisition that the Lakers made during the span of the NBA Trade Deadline and buyout market. The 30-year-old's contract is looking very affordable considering his averages for the season.
