In what is a must-win game for the Los Angeles Lakers, not only because is a match against their city rival, but because they want to turn the season around after several stepbacks, after the loss to the Grizzlies, the purple and gold have a 4-game losing streak and a 17-19 record.
To make things worse, the team just lost the first quarter against the LA Clippers and their biggest struggle of several seasons continues as the team's 3-point shooting continues to be terrible.
The Lakers have scored three 3-pointers out of 10 attempts to have a 30% efficacy from distance which isn't good at all, especially against a rival like the LA Clippers. Austin Reaves recently called his teammates to improve their shooting 3-pointer efficacy.
One of the players set to help from 3 is D'Angelo Russell who is finally available for tonight's game. Coach Ham will continue to bench the point guard but D'Lo needs to show he can be the team's point guard.
Darvin Ham, who’s recently referred to the peaks and valleys of an NBA season, was asked how he knows if this is a valley or a cliff that he and the Lakers are facing. Ham: “I don’t know. I guess the velocity at which I hit the ground.”
