The Lakers have a key game tomorrow night, not only they will be facing the NBA reigning champions the Denver Nuggets, but also before the contest, the purple and gold's late legend Kobe Bryant's statue is going to be unveiled.
It will be a memorable day for the Lakers fans, but they want the ultimate tribute for Bryant to be a good win over the Nuggets because of everything that Kobe meant to the franchise and the NBA world.
D'Angelo Russell has been key in the Lakers' latest 3-game winning streak, giving some of his strongest performances in the season, and despite countless rumors having him traded away from LA, the point guard will be staying but could be missing the game vs. Denver.
Earlier today it was originally announced by coach Darvin Ham that D'Lo had undergone a procedure, but a Lakers team spokesperson clarified that was not the case. Russell is listed as questionable for Thursday's night game and rather than having a procedure, the point guard underwent a "treatment."
A recent report by NBA insider Bill Reiter says: "Sources tell @CBSsports that a complicating factor on whether or not the Lakers acquire an impact player in the next 24 hours is the belief within the organization they could have a chance to acquire Donovan Mitchell this summer. Knicks also could be in play."
