The Los Angeles Lakers are set to have to make a big decision towards the future of the franchise regarding their best superstar LeBron James who is set to become a free agent in the summer but new reports suggest he is pursuing a multi-year new contract.

As LeBron is pushing for a multi-year deal with the Lakers to make LA probably his last team before retiring, something he has been open about wanting to happen, same as the governor and owner Jeanie Buss, this new deal would be worth more than his current contract.

But the craziest thing about the new deal is not only that would be for 2-3 years with a potential salary of $60 million per year (max) but that at the end of it, the Lakers superstar will be about 42 years old of age.

Despite the salary increase, it should not be a problem as both sides have been open about wanting to continue their relationship and having the superstar ending his brilliant career in LA to then make the case of becoming the basketball GOAT over Michael Jordan once everything is set and done.

LeBron James isn't stopping as he continues to break all kinds of records

Not only last season LeBron James became the new scoring leader of all time, breaking the former record set by the Lakers showtime era legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, but he is also getting closer to becoming the first player in the league to score 40,000 points. James has broken all kinds of records and will continue to do so as he is currently in his year 21 and with this potential new deal will go beyond it.
