The Los Angeles Lakers were the best team in the 2019-2020 season and even got to win the NBA championship title of that year, still, they were disrespected and underestimated because of the circumstances they won it, as the world was in the middle of the COVID pandemic and the NBA title was played in the famously called "the Bubble."

Many NBA players and former Lakers champions have come out and revealed it was harder than any year in the league, still, many believed things could've gone differently if it wasn't because of the bubble.

Some of the players who believe they would've won that title if it wasn't because of the "bubble" are the LA Clippers from that roster, as they believe they would've won it, but the reality is different.

In the LA Lakers D'Angelo Russell's latest podcast "The Backyard," Anthony Davis gave a reality check to everyone who doubts or calls it a fake title: “People talk about ‘aw the Lakers championship. Oh, it wasn’t real, the bubble'… We were running through the league. We were gonna win anyway.”

Damian Lillard, a Lakers rival explained it better than anyone

“I think it counts to me. Why doesn't it count? Nobody else won it. Everybody else had the same opportunity to win it, so why didn't they win it?” Lillard said of the bubble in a September 2023 interview. He added, “The physical part, everybody was fresh. That's why you see dudes hooping like that, ‘coz there was nothing else [to do]. That will make it harder to win it all,”
