The LA Lakers star Anthony Davis is primarily a Power Forward, but in the last two years, first with head coach Frank Vogel, and then with head coach Darvin Ham, has been playing as the center.

Davis doesn't feel that much comfortable playing as the team's five, plus it has given him a bigger load to carry, and being the prone-injury player he is, he doesn't want to risk his health and has asked to see his load reduced on that role.

GM Rob Pelinka signed the big man Christian Wood to help AD on that, but coach Ham could still be using Davis as the team's center, but the plan will be to reduce his time in that position.

Via NBA insider Jovan Buha: "Davis is still expected to start and close games at center, but his percentage of time he spends there should be more akin to the 2021-22 season."

The Lakers won the 2020 championship title with AD as the four

Not as a center, but the Lakers were able to win their last championship title with Anthony Davis playing his natural role of Power Forward. The team is looking to emulate as much as they can that NBA season, AD could have less time as a center and more as the team's four.
