Saturday night was a celebratory night for the Los Angeles Lakers, not only did they have an impressive win over the Indiana Pacers, but their statement victory has shown the NBA they are for real and looking to become the new champions of the league.

In fact, by beating the Pacers, they became the first-ever champions of the In-Season Tournament, but the group has accepted they are now going for the real deal, the NBA title and one of the players who had an extraordinary performance was Austin Reaves.

Reaves started the season with some early struggles, much of which had to do with the fact he participated in a high-level competition, the FIBA World Cup with Team USA. But now that he has fully recovered from that, and coach Ham has given him more freedom as a playmaker with a new coming-off-the-bench role, the Lakers guard has bounced back.

But on Saturday night he gave his best performance of the campaign, and to make things more impressive he did it playing through being sick with the flu, to have one of the best flu games in the sport.

Austin Reaves reveals how his mother would have reacted if he didn't have played

"I think my mother would've strangled me to death if I didn't play." Austin Reaves said one of the reasons he played in the IST final vs. Indiana. The guard also added "You don't want to miss a game, I don't want to let my brothers down. I don't want to be the one that misses a game when I could've potentially helped win it." Coming off the bench, Austin Reaves scored 28 points in 28 minutes, 9/15 FG, 10/12 FT, with 2 rebounds and 3 assists.
