The 2023-24 NBA season is quickly approaching, and with that, the Lakers fans are more excited than they have been since the start of the 2020-21 season when we were hoping for a back-to-back second championship title until injuries hurt the team and the rest is history.

After the last campaign ended with the team being swept by the Nuggets in the WCF series, GM Rob Pelinka and coach Ham kept the core of players that worked and made changes by upgrading from the ones that didn't.

One of the top priorities this offseason was to bring back Rui Hachimura, the Japanese wing signed a three-year 51 million extension and fans believe he will be having a breakout year, especially after what he was able to show in the 2022-23 playoffs.

Rui Hachimura showed a lot of improvement in the last playoffs, since then, he hasn't stopped putting up the work with Assistant Coach Phil Handy and the latest video released by the Lakers' official Twitter account scoring buckets has the fans hoping he will have a breakout season just like Reaves did last year.

Rui Hachimura will be the starting Wing over Jarred Vanderbilt

According to NBA insider Jovan Buha, the Lakers wing to be a starter is Rui Hachimura, even when Jarred Vanderbilt was a standout in the regular season and playoffs. The Lakers head coach Darvin Ham believes Rui deserves to be the starter alongside D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis.
