The Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has been having a superb year, as he signed a max extension for 56M, is currently playing with Team USA, and has released his first signature shoes to be sold out almost immediately, billboards all across LA. Even his first celebrity dating rumor.

Reaves has had a meteoric rise, but now that he is playing with Team USA and showing great things as a Point Guard, he has given a low blow to his teammate and close friend D'Angelo Russell.

"I want to get back to playing point guard a little more and what we did at the end of the year. I feel comfortable and like I'm able to do that," Reaves said. With this move, Reaves could send D-Lo to the bench.

While it's unlikely the Lakers will take the keys to the offense from James and hand them to Reaves, they did get a preview of what a potential three-headed attack of James, Reaves, and Anthony Davis could look like in the playoffs. Reaves emerged as the clear third option on offense during the Lakers' run to the Western Conference Finals, raising his stock to the point some were concerned he'd be lavished with a massive offer sheet in free agency.

The Spurs were ready to offer a four-year 100M deal to Reaves

If Reaves can take on a substantial role in the offense and become a true third star, his deal will quickly become the best in basketball. Especially after learning that the Spurs were ready to have a 100M offered to the guard for four years, but desisted on the Lakers' insisting on matching any offer made to Reaves.
