Team USA had their FIBA World Cup debut and got to beat the New Zealand team, but it wasn't without their struggles as the United States were trailing 4-16, then The Lakers star Austin Reaves came off the bench and helped turn things around.

The rookie of the year Paolo Banchero ended the game being the best scorer for USA with 21 points but the best player for many was Austin Reaves who scored 12 points but had six assists and also changed the game on the defensive end.

Reaves was so great that the crowd went nuts, which caused many to yell "Austin, you're him!" which had Anthony Edwards on the way to the locker room laughing and also said to Reaves "Austin, you're him!"

It may been a joke, but Edwards did acknowledge Reaves' great game and has added fire to the speculation that Anthony could be coming to the Lakers sometime in the future.

Austin Reaves 'recruiting' for the Lakers

Austin Reaves is easygoing and he is having a great time with his Team USA teammates and even becoming friends with some of them. Recently the NBA Insider Jovan Buha asked the Lakers guard if he was recruiting for the team and while Reaves tried to hide it, at the end he said yeah.
