After a lot of waiting and speculation, the Los Angeles Lakers finally announced their 14th and possible last significant signing before training camp starts in the shape of Christian Wood, and the team is now set for the regular season.

But the signing of Wood who wants a prominent role with the team now is going to give us a battle for the backup role for Anthony Davis between the two bigs on the team.

Jaxson Hayes, the other Lakers center is excited with the opportunity and recalls watching the purple and gold when growing up, and won't put it easy for Christian, as he wants to be the guy that makes a difference on the court.

Hayes recently spoke to Spectrum SportsNet and said "I want to bring that energy. I want to be that guy who is spreading the floor, non-stop, on the rim..." Also with coach Ham planning to have sometimes two bigs on the court at the same time, one of them could be on the floor with AD or even the two of them when Davis is on the bench.

Anthony Davis asked to have help at the center position but still will be the main five for Coach Ham. Then Christian Wood and Jaxson Hayes are the two other centers, but if needed, coach Darvin Ham could also get use of the two-way contract rookie Colin Castleton.
