LeBron James' arrival in Los Angeles was what the team needed, especially after Kobe Bryant's retirement. The team didn't have a superstar, and despite the talented squad, something was missing, as the franchise was already ten years without winning a championship title.

Magic Johnson at the time in 2018 was the president of Basketball operations for the Lakers and decided to sign LeBron James to bring greatness to the franchise, James agreed and his arrival did help to get the team back to it's glory.

In 2020 the Lakers won an NBA championship title and James has always shown his love and support for the franchise and the Crypto.com Arena, previously called the Staples Center.

But today, LeBron posted on his IG story, a love and appreciation the Madison Square Garden, where the New York Knicks play, and even wrote: "My FAV place to play ball in the whole world," which probably won't sit right with Los Angeles fans.

Despite the change of name, the Staples Center, now the Crypto.com Arena is better known as the house that Kobe Bryant built between fans. This could be a factor in why LeBron James has a preference for the MSG
