The first preseason game before the 2022-2023 season starts left a lot to be desired by the Los Angeles Lakers, but one of the players that didn't perform like expected was their biggest star, LeBron James.

James looked slow, erratic, and overall without wanting to shine; it felt like he was saving himself for another moment. Instead, he opposed Paul George, the star of the city rival, The Clippers.

More Lakers news:

George showed LeBron how it is done; from the first minute he stepped on the court,  Paul was serious about contending for the championship this season; it didn't matter that it was just the preseason opener.

LeBron will have to change his attitude to give some hope that the Lakers fans have lost after seeing their team get beaten by one of the 'weakest links in the league. There is still hope and room for improvement, but so far, it was more of the same as the last season.

LeBron James will be back on his best level for the regular season

It is too early to be hard on the Lakers star, as it is only the first preseason game, and that's the importance of this game. Now is the time to improve and get ready for when it matters. LeBron is going for everything this season so it will go full force against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
