While the Los Angeles Lakers players are making a fantastic deal saving the front office millions of dollars, the player has created one of the worst moves in the history of the NBA.
German Dennis Schröder, who has just been eliminated from the EuroBasket tournament, turned down 80 million from the Lakers to sign as a free agent with them for two million a year later.
Dennis averaged 15.4 points and nearly six assists during his 2020-21 campaign with the LA franchise when he turned down the millionaire extension.
The news of Schröder's return to the Lakers comes hours after he and Germany lost to Spain in the Eurobasket semifinals. Dennis led all scorers with 30 points in Friday's game. The Point guard will be returning to LA soon.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski sources told him that the Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka and HC Darvin Ham recently reached out to Russ to tell him that they planned to sign a veteran guard to the team's 14th roster spot. This seems like an imminent release of West from the Lakers.
