The Los Angeles Lakers have given a step forward to bring back Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura by officially extending qualifying offers to both stars, making both players restricted free agents.
But that's not the only move the Lakers have in mind, as they are looking to get at least one player in the free agency market; because of that, they plan to let three players go to get some room as coach Darvin Ham got tire of giving these players opportunities with the team.
With information via ESPN's Bobby Marks, the Lakers could be generating some room for making new signings this offseason:
"Lakers could create roughly $17M in the room if they let [Malik Beasley, Mo Bamba] and D'Angelo Russell go... I would expect [Austin] Reaves and [Rui] Hachimura back."
With information by Lakers insider Jovan Buha: "Rob Pelinka said the Lakers are targeting tough, defensive-minded, selfless players in free agency. He echoed that the plan continues to be running it back with marginal upgrades."
