By James Brown
LeBron James and the LA Lakers had a complicated mission in the past campaign as they were working on turning the season around to make it to the playoffs and had a critical game against their biggest rival, the Boston Celtics.
In the last play of the game, LeBron received a clear foul from the Celtics star, Jayson Tatum, This would have James a chance to win the game with free throws, but the NBA referees didn't make the call.
The then Lakers PG Patrick Beverley, took a camera with a picture of the foul and brought it to one of the refs, Eric Lewis who gave the star a technical.
Since then, the Lakers fans found proof that the NBA referee Lewis was a Celtics fan and by the end of the season he was getting investigated for a potential Twitter burner account. Today, the NBA referee Eric Lewis has officially retired.
It seems that the Lakers fans got Lewis to retire as the NBA official statement reads: "NBA referee Eric Lewis has informed the league office that he is retiring, effective immediately. In light of his decision, the NBA's investigation into social media activity has been closed."
