One of the strengths the Lakers roster had when the team was able to win the 2020 championship title in the bubble was size, thanks to the bigs they have, especially with JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard.

Since then, the team has been struggling, and wasn't until the last season when with coach Ham at the helm, the Lakers were able to make it to the WCF, but because of their lack of size they couldn't stop Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets swept them.

Now, Pelinka and coach Ham wants to bring back the strategy that worked for that 2020 title, play with two bigs, reason why they signed the young talented center Jaxson Hayes, is to team him up with Anthony Davis.

Still, there are no more centers on the roster besides the young rookie with the two-way contract, which is why Pelinka has been actively looking to add another center but hasn't found the best option yet.

Dwight Howard could make a return to LA after all

Last season, Howard played in Taiwan after his third stint with the Lakers, he currently remains a free agent available to be signed by any team, and GM Rob Pelinka could've him as a backup option in case they aren't able to sign Christian Wood or Bismack Biyombo, their first two options.
