The Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has just ended his participation with Team USA, and despite the disappointing outcome for the group, Reaves was one of the standouts of the squad, showing he is a great player and is here to stay.

Austin ended last season as one of coach Ham's starters and is set to repeat that role, at least when the regular season starts that's the plan. Reaves was capable of becoming the third-best player in the roster just behind Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

With his performances in the 2023 playoffs and at the FIBA World Cup, Austin has created a lot of expectations as to what he will be able to bring to the team in the 2023-24 campaign.

Now with information by Bally Sports' senior lead NBA insider Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson: "Austin Reaves had Team USA duty BUT the Lakers guard did get a visit & workout from Lakers coaching staff towards the end of FIBA World Cup. The team is excited to have him in the fold for training camp. A prominent Laker tells me: 'I can’t wait. He’s a freaking monster!'"

Austin Reaves wants a bigger role within the team as a PG

After his participation with Team USA, Austin Reaves wants to continue playing as a point guard, this time for the Lakers. It has been reported that Reaves will have a bigger role with the time and more time with the ball. Austin could become one of the team's prime playmakers, maybe the second just behind LeBron James.
