He's set to be the future of the Lakers, reveals what he has done in the summer

The LA Lakers had the No. 17 overall pick in 2023 and instead of going for the player the Lakers fans wanted, Cam Whitmore, GM Rob Pelinka went with Jalen Hood-Schifino instead.

Hood-Schifino has to improve his shooting, but he is set to be a great playmaker for the team in the future, and while this season he isn't expected to have significant playing minutes, he has put up the work to be part of Ham's rotation.

With some highs and lows throughout his time in the Summer League, Hood-Schifino got a sample size of what it was like playing in the league. Now with training camp on the horizon and his rookie campaign is about to start, he shared thoughts on what his offseason has been like since being drafted, via Jovan Buha of The Athletic:

“I mean, honestly, it’s been pretty good. I think just because I’m able to be in the gym right now and finally lock in on the main thing. Going through the pre-draft process and doing different things, you have a lot of things coming at you business-wise, and basketball-wise. So, I think now it’s just about getting better every single day and trying to see improvements.”

JHS knows he won't have too much time with the team, still, he has been putting up the work to leave an impression. “Get in there, get my treatment, get in the weight room, hit the court, get my daily vitamins in. Now, we’re starting to have pretty much everyone in there. So, now we’ve been able to compete 3-on-3, 4-on-4, 5-on-5. So, yeah, iJat’s been great.”
