The GM Rob Pelinka from the Los Angeles Lakers franchise has stated that the front office is "actively" looking to add a big to their 14th spot roster.

But not a single announcement has been made concerning that matter and fans are worried the GM doesn't have a plan as the names of centers in the free agent list are running thin.

Christian Wood has been linked with the Lakers, but that big player doesn't fit the plan that coach Ham and Pelinka want to implement the next season.

The player that does fit in that system is the Oklahoma City Thunder center Usman Garuba. According to information by Fansided, the young center could soon leave the team: "Usman Garuba is currently signed to the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have 20 players on the roster. OKC is going to have to cut loose at least five players before the start of the 2023-24 season and Garuba is one of the main candidates to be let go." Wrote Jason Reed.

The reason Usman Garuba fits Coach Ham's system

Garuba is the kind of big that the Lakers need to get if Hayes is going to start and play big minutes next to Anthony Davis. There are going to be times when Rui Hachimura and Jarred Vanderbilt are on the floor together and adding the additional floor spacer, which Usman brings, with Vando on the court makes sense.
