There's no doubt that the Lakers showtime era legend Magic Johnson has done great in his life, first as a basketball player with the purple and gold, winning five championship titles.
Johnson also signed with Converse an endorsement deal and with time he invested in all kinds of business. In recent years, Magic has started investing in sports franchises and now is part-owner of four in four different sports.
Johnson is part owner of the MLB's Dodgers, WNBA's Sparks, MLS's LAFC, and now the NFL's Washington Commanders. The latter was bought by an ownership group led by Josh Harris and including Johnson, for a record 6 billion.
In total, during his professional career as an NBA player and after his retirement, Magic has been able to amass a Net worth of 620 million. But he'll probably continue to grow.
At the time Magic Johnson didn't know it, but a young Phil Knight offered the Lakers star 10K in shares. Nike was starting so it was unknown then, Magic passed the offer and then signed with Converse for 10K. Of accepting Knight's offer, Magic would've made around 5 billion. To make things worst, Nike bought Converse so Magic ended with Nike.
