By James Brown
One of the biggest desires the Lakers Nation have is to see as soon as possible the well-deserved statue of the Lakers' late legend and their greatest player of all time Kobe Bryant to hang out in the Crypto.com Arena alongside the other purple and gold legends.
More than three years have passed since the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant, and fans believed that a statue in his honor has been overdue, still, the Lakers owner and governor Jeanie Buss doesn't seem to have a rush on doing it as her recent update on the situation proves.
Via Mark Medina of Sportskeeda.com, Jeanie Buss isn't ready to announce when Kobe will be getting his statue even when is inevitable. "It's too premature. It's not for public consumption yet. Rest assured, there will be an announcement when the time is right."
Fans do know Kobe will be getting a statue, but they are getting pissed off by the Lakers taking their time on that. Still, there must be something special behind the scenes that Jeanie and the Lakers organization are preparing in honor of their greatest player in the franchise's history.
Lastly, the Lakers have done right by these legends, like Magic Johnson, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, and O’Neal by giving them memorable and iconic statues. It is safe to assume that the same care and attention to detail will be applied to Bryant’s statue when that time comes.
