Lakers players Kendrick Nunn is coming off from a serious injury but he believes he's ready to start the season.

The Lakers signed Kendrick Nunn to a two-year, $10 million contract back in 2021. However, right before the start of the season, the point guard was diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right knee. At first, he was expected to miss a couple of weeks, but after some stepbacks, he ended up missing the whole season. Now reports are announcing that he might not be ready to start the season.

The undrafted player started his professional career in the NBA with the Miami Heat back in 2019. He spent two seasons with the team before signing with the Lakers. Nunnaveraged 15.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 44 games as a starter with the Heat. Now the Lakers are hoping to have the player ready for the start of the season.

One last Russell Westbrook trade option for the Lakers

According to NBA insider Michael Scotto, “He’s been around the facility shooting and working out. It’s been a slower than anticipated ramp-up.” But now, the point guard decided to come out on his social media and deny these comments.

Kendrick Nunn has been a focal point of Jeanie Buss during this off-season. She believes that the former Miami Heat player can be a great addition to the team. Especially as a third offensive player alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Lakers new players

Despite being with the team for a year now, Kendrick Nunn will be playing his first season with the team if he is healthy enough. Now, he will join Patrick Beverley, Lonnie Walker IV, and Juan Toscano-Anderson as players that the Lakers hope can make a difference this season.
