The Lakers GM Rob Pelinka recently stated the team continues to be "actively" looking to add a big center. Reports by NBA insider Jovan Buha have Christian Wood and Bismack Biyombo as the two main options.

Wood hasn't accepted the vet minimum the Lakers have offered as he is looking to have a bigger role with the Miami Heat, the purple and gold are still waiting and have Bismack Biyombo as a second option.

In case the GM Rob Pelinka doesn't decide to go with either of them, he could bring back a former Lakers big, as there are three currently available in the free agency market.

The 2020 champions vets JaVale McGee, who recently got waived by the Mavs, and Dwight Howard who remains without a team after playing in Taiwan. The third option is Wenyen Gabriel, who was a big in the last season and has been killing it at the FIBA World Cup with South Sedan.

The reason why the Lakers probably won't sign McGee or Howard

Out of the three bigs, the one with the biggest chances to make a return is Wenyen Gabriel, as McGee and Howard aren't getting any younger and haven't played at the same level as in 2020, is time to look to the future and move forward.
