One of the biggest moves in last season's trade at mid-season was the return of a former draft pick for the Lakers who left too early and the fans wanted to see him back, now the purple and gold owner has opened up about it.

For many Lakers fans, bringing back D’Angelo Russell midseason felt like a fantasy. Even as the players dispersed across the league, fans still followed the Baby Lakers and wished for their success.

Having one come back to Los Angeles with the team now looking to contend for titles? That felt like a dream, but one not just shared by the fans. Owner Jeanie Buss also had that type of dream as well.

“I really just so appreciated the turnaround. I think it started with some of the trades in January when Rui Hachimura became a Laker. And then, of course, going into the trade deadline, Rob (Pelinka) was able to kind of retool the roster and bringing back D’Angelo Russell was kind of a dream come true for me.” Said Jeanie Buss.

D'Angelo Russell felt his 2nd stint in LA like a rematch

The first stint between the Lakers and D'Angelo Russell didn't go as expected, as D-Lo's attitude left a lot to be desired, but his second stint with the team has been successful as he immediately helped the team to turned what was looking like a doomed season to play the WCF series.
