The Los Angeles Lakers haven't stopped looking to add another center to their roster, and while the two top choices are reported to be Christian Wood and Bismack Biyombo, GM Rob Pelinka has been waiting to see what other option gets available in the free agency market.

Pelinka waiting for another option has paid off, as a new big man suddenly appears for the Lakers to take as the Oklahoma City Thunder has waived big man Usman Garuba, who at just 21 years old could make for an intriguing option for the Lakers' 14th roster spot.

While Garuba isn't the next NBA big thing kind of player, Garuba brings what the team needs in a role big man player that could be helpful on both ends for the team, especially as a backup.

At 21 years of age, Usman Garuba could be a potential backup for years to come, which is something the Lakers have been betting on lately, on building the roster with young talented blood to compete for several seasons.

If the Lakers sign Usman Garuba there's still space for Christian Wood

Even if Pelinka does choose to use the 14th spot on signing free agent Usman Garuba, the Lakers could still wait on Christian Wood and use the 15th spot to complete the roster for the next season.
