Move on LeBron, the new faces for the franchise are ready to continue the legacy

The offseason moves made by the LA Lakers could be more significant than how they looked at first, as it seems that GM Rob Pelinka and coach Darvin Ham are not only preparing for the next season but for the future, and even further, they are building for the post-LeBron James era.

The first clue that Pelinka and Ham have given has been the 2023 Draft Pick moves, they have chosen the point guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, and the small forward Maxwell Lewis, with two-way contracts D'Moi Hodge, Colin Castleton, and Alex Fudge. A promising young core for years to come.

Also, the re-signing of Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and D'Angelo Russell, but one of the most important moves this offseason was the max-extension of Anthony Davis.

The Lakers are planning to build around AD and Austin Reaves once LeBron James retires, in case that happens. When extending Davis, Rob Pelinka himself said they want AD to take the lead role of the team and to build around him.

LeBron James still doesn't have a retirement date

Even when it has been speculated that LeBron James' retirement will be in a couple of years, different pieces of information have him thinking of retiring between 45 to 50 years old, but it depends on his body and mind.
