The Los Angeles Lakers completely changed after the trade deadline once GM Rob Pelinka got rid of Russell Westbrook and got D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, and Jarred Vanderbilt instead.

After that, the Lakers got the 7th seed and into the Play-In, where they defeated the Timberwolves to play the first-round series vs. the Memphis Grizzlies.

It was a tough series, but the Lakers got a win in Game 6 by blowing up the Grizzlies, and a lot has to do with the presence of a long-time famous celebrity fan, the Academy Award winner Jack Nicholson.

Nicholson has been a long-time fan since the early '70s and has seen many championships, he is 86 years old and is now present after more than a year and a half of not going to the Crypto.com Arena, but his presence has helped to inspire the team and close out the series.

The Lakers will have one less game than their round two rival

It was an opportunity that the Lakers didn't want to waste, as they closed out the series at home in Game 6; they are now in round two and with a game less to play and more rest time than their future rival, the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings will play Game 7 of their series.
