From being almost teammates with Germany to now being rivals at the FIBA World Cup semifinals Austin Reaves with Team USA will be facing Dennis Schröder and Germany.

Dennis tried to recruit Reaves to the German National Basketball team, and at one point the Lakers guard was interested, as Austin has double nationality, but he received the call to be part of Team USA and didn't hesitate to the opportunity to represent the United States.

Now, Reaves and Schroder will face each other in what is going to be a rematch from the showcase game the two countries had before the FIBA World Cup.

Austin was asked about what's the most German thing about him, to which the Lakers guard responded: “My grandma is from there. My brother (Spencer Reves) plays over there, he plays professionally, so you know I got those ties but we’re here.” Reaves also revealed that Schröder tried to recruit him all year to play for Germany.

Austin Reaves spoke about what Dennis Schröder brings to the locker room

“I think me just being with Dennis in the past year, I feel like that’s one thing he’s really good at, instilling confidence in others…,”  Said Reaves about his now former teammate Dennis Schröder.
