By James Brown

The NBA history is so rich that the debate of who is the GOAT can be an endless controversial debate. Although even most of the time, Michael Jordan is considered the greatest, at the end of the day, taking the stats to the side, it depends on every person to have their favorite player.
One example was the ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith who didn´t have Kobe Bryant in his top 5 best players. But there´s someone who has Kobe as his number one, not questioned. And that is current Brooklyn Net player Kyrie Irving.
Kyrie Irving was recently seen in the LeBron James TV show The Shop, where he got brutally honest about who his favorite NBA player of all time is and why. After being asked by British and Hollywood star Idris Elba who was the basketball figure that inspired him the way, actor Denzel Washington inspired Elba.
Kyrie Irving answered that LeBron James and explained that Kobe would forever be his GOATfor him. Irving had a student-teacher relationship with the “Black Mamba,” which gave him access to Bryant´s highlights for 10,12 years. So for Irving, Kobe Bryant will always be his number one.
Irving, who was all offseason long-rumored to join LeBron and Anthony Davis in the Lakers, will continue to play for at least one more season with the Nets alongside BFF Kevin Durant. So the door is still open for Irving to wear the Purple and gold jersey next year.
