Paolo Banchero reacts to the putback dunk in the Team USA vs. Italy

Team USA lost against Liuthania recently at the FIBA World Cup, but earlier today, they were able to bounce back and get the win vs. Italy, this had the fans hyped again.

Austin Reaves was the player from the US to receive most of the blame for the loss against Lithuania, as his detractors continue to think he shouldn't be on the team, but once again, today proved them wrong.

Not only did the Lakers guard go on to score 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, also closed the game as the team's PG and at one moment hyped the crowd with a putback dunk.

Even his teammate Paolo Banchero reacted to the dunk as he was asked in the post-game interview, the star responded with "Imma give it to Austin," regarding the best dunk of the night. “[Austin] had a putback exactly like that earlier in the Tournament - he didn’t dunk it. So it was crazy. He came from the same spot on the floor. Right down the wing, right down the lane- And he dunked THAT one. It was awesome.”

Team USA have made it to the semifinals

After the 2019 disaster when Team USA lost in the quarterfinals and were eliminated, this FIBA World Cup they are back to the semifinals and ready to return to another final to contend for the gold.
