It hasn't been an easy ride for Jeanie Buss as the Lakers governor and owner, and neither has been for the GM Rob Pelinka, as both had succeeded in 2020 when the squad won the championship title, since then, it has been a disappointing season after another.

Rob Pelinka was able to start turning things around after the movements the GM made at the trade deadline of the 2022-23 season. The Lakers failed to accomplish the ultimate goal, but have now built from keeping the core of that team, as they were able to make it to the WCF.

Los Angeles has managed to find several impact players in the draft and Jeanie made sure to credit her brothers Joey and Jesse Buss for that. At the same time, Buss gave a 'low blow' to Pelinka as she didn't mention the GM in that respect.

"I have to give a lot of credit to my brother, Joey Buss, who oversees our development with our G League team, and my brother, Jesse Buss, who is in charge of all of our scouting. He has done a terrific job not only with our draft picks, but also identifying players that aren’t drafted and bringing them to our G-League team, our summer league team, and giving players opportunities to be seen." Said, Jeanie.

What Jeanie Buss expects from the Lakers' young players

"Even if they get called up by another team, we’re happy for those players that we’ve identified. Giving talent opportunities to make our league is important to us. We will continue to do that. They have identified players that fit the system and the style of play that Darvin Ham wants to play" Said Jeanie Buss, the Lakers owner.
