It wasn't a surprise for the Lakers fans that the organization led by the team governor and owner Jeanie Buss, the GM Rob Pelinka, and HC Darvin Ham decided to keep the core of the team from the last season, and having as the top priority to sign back in free agency the players Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura.

Pelinka re-signed both in the first two days of the free agency market, not leaving time for speculation and without breaking the bank but paying both players what they deserve.

The purple and gold, since the franchise won the 2020 championship title in the bubble, haven't been able to find a solution for their lack of 3-point shooting efficacy, until the last playoffs.

Rui and Austin have made NBA history with their shooting performances, as Lakers Nation's Trevor Lane has pointed out "Rui Hachimura is the NBA's all-time leader in career Playoff 3pt % at 52%. His Lakers teammate Austin Reaves is 12th all-time at 44%."

The Lakers 2023-24 season looks promising but there's a but

The Lakers had a great offseason and have now a deep roster that has improved from the last season that made it into the Western Conference Finals. With many of their West competitors staying almost the same or even getting worst, the team should make it to the NBA Finals, but Darvin Ham remains to be the head coach which is disappointing for the Lakers fans that believe he isn't competent enough to lead the team to a championship title because of his bad decision-making on the lineups and team rotation.
