The Los Angeles Lakers could have accomplished their ultimate goal set for this season, to win the NBA Championship title, and fell by being swept to the now Champions, the Denver Nuggets.

But many fans keep wondering why GM Rob Pelinka made so many drastic changes almost four years ago after the Lakers won the 2020 championship title, as only Anthony Davis and LeBron James are left from that roster.

One movement that has backfired on Pelinka is the trade of the SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is proving to the GM how he left some valuable pieces from that roster as he has won his second NBA title in less than four years.

KCP just won his second championship ring, this time with the Denver Nuggets alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, and he did it being a starter.

The Lakers need a PG like Jamal Murray to win the NBA title

The Lakers have been missing a reliable PG that can make the team have that quality jump to become champions, as D'Angelo Russell proved not to be that player. Murray is a prime example of how valuable a reliable PG in the postseason is.
