Rebook fell behind in their basketball department compared to what Nike and Adidas have been able to build all these years. The Lakers legend Shaquille O'Neal once rejected a 40 million deal with them because of how expensive the shoes were, then partnered up with Walmart and sold millions of affordable sneakers.
The brand faded away with Allen Iverson being their last big athlete to wear their shoes, now they are relaunching their Reebok basketball department going all-in with Shaquille O'Neal as the president and Iverson as his vice president.
Shaq has made his first official move and is a big one, with information via NBA footwear expert Nick DePaula: "Reebok has signed LSU star Angel Reese, the company's first basketball athlete of the next generation."
Shaquille O'Neal said about the move: "For my 1st appointment in this role, it had to be the GOAT, there is no one making a bigger impact on the game right now than Angel Reese."
"I am honored to be working closely with one of my longtime mentors, Shaq, along with a brand that I have admired since I was just a little kid. It means the world to me that they trust in me to extend their legacy to a new generation." Said Reese about signing with Reebok with the Lakers legend Shaq at the helm.
