The Los Angeles Lakers won the 2020 championship title with Dwight Howard being a key role player for the team, especially in the WCF series vs. the Nuggets where he was able to stop Nikola Jokic.

Howard is no longer part of the purple and gold roster, but he keeps fond memories of his time in LA, as he has had three different stints with the team.

In a recent interview, Dwight revealed that at first, James Harden reminded him of a young Kobe Bryant, but now realizes his massive mistake as he said:

"I looked at [James Harden] as a younger version of Kobe. I don't know why I was thinking that… If I would've sat down and really thought about my decisions without being in my emotions, I probably would've stayed in LA."

Dwight Howard still wants to be part of the Lakers

Howard is currently playing in Taiwan as he wasn't capable of finding another NBA team after his third stint with the Lakers ended. Dwight still wants back, but GM Rob Pelinka has gone younger with the recent signing of Jaxson Hayes, as he revealed wanting Jaxson to have the role Howard did in the 2020 championship title.
