The Los Angeles Lakers have 13 players on their roster plus three rookies with two-way contracts, but they are still looking to add one more big to become the backup center for Anthony Davis for the next season.

The top choice in the free agency market has been said to be Christian Wood, a lot has been said about his cost, attitude problems, and defensive deficiencies, GM Rob Pelinka seems to still be interested in signing the big center for coach Ham to make him work according to recent reports.

With Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka looking to fill the 14th roster spot before the training camp, Wood “still seems like the top choice despite the defensive shortcomings and personality issues,” with information per Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times.

Wood is asking for 13M but the Lakers are offering the vet min and still, the main issue is his attitude problems. “The big question would be whether the Lakers' structure… could keep Wood focused on winning while eliminating some of his bad habits and overcoming some deficiencies. There’s at least some internal optimism that the Lakers could make it work…” said Woike.

The Lakers still need to add a center to their roster

The free agency market for centers is running thin, and Pelinka is still eyeing Christian Wood, but the team could be waiting to see if another center gets available soon before the regular season starts.
