The free agency market continues and teams are making their movements, and the Lakers have been one of the busiest teams, and even for many they have 'won' the offseason, but they still are lacking in two areas, in their size, as they need another backup big and in 3-point shooting.

3-point shooting has been critical in the last few years for the purple and gold, especially after the 2020 championship title. Last season they tried to solve the problem with players like Lonnie Walker and Malik Beasley, they aren't longer part of the roster.

Currently, they had Rui Hachimura, Austin Reaves, and Max Christie who is set to have more playing time and become part of Coach Ham's rotation. But with the New York Knicks G Josh Hart just finalizing a four-year 81 million contract extension, with information by Aaron Mintz, Dave Spahn, and Steven Heuman of CAA Basketball, the Lakers see a former draft pick succeed in another team.

Another Lakers draft pick that has found his way in the NBA continues to show how the scouting department has made its job, even when Pelinka sometime let them go before time. Hart is one of the best rebounding guards in the league and part of the reason why the Knicks were so dominant there, plus, he had a 51% in 3-pointers.

The Lakers are still one player away from completing their roster for next season

There's still one spot available for the Lakers to fill, as they are planning to enter training camp and then the regular season with 14 players plus their three two-way contract rookies. Pelinka has stated they are "actively" looking to add a big center, but they haven't signed one yet.
