With Christian Wood now part of the roster, the Lakers' offseason has been a standout in the NBA, not only because of the depth and upgrades that have been made but also because the team's cap situation has completely changed.

After the failed signing of Russell Westbrook that affected the team's cap space big time, not giving many chances to have depth on the roster, GM Rob Pelinka has turned the worst cap situation into the best in just 8 months.

Pelinka should be a serious contender for the Executive of the Year award, even when now it depends on coach Ham and the players the outcome of the campaign. Rob has set up the Lakers as the most flexible contender and could easily get a superstar if the right one becomes available.

The Lakers 2023-24 contracts that made it possible: LeBron James: $47.6M Anthony Davis: $40.6M D’Angelo Russell: $17.3M Rui Hachimura: $15.7M Austin Reaves: $12M Gabe Vincent: $10.5M Jarred Vanderbilt: $4.7M Taurean Prince: $4.5M Jalen Hood-Schifino: $3.7M Christian Wood: $2.7M Jaxson Hayes: $2.2M Cam Reddish: $2.2M Max Christie: $1.7M Maxwell Lewis: $1.1M.

Rob Pelinka delivered, now is up to coach Ham and LeBron James

One of the messages from LeBron James last season was that he still could make a team champion with the right players and coach, now that he has all that should delivered. The same goes for coach Ham, after making it into the WCF, at least the NBA Finals are expected.
