The Los Angeles Lakers have just become the first-ever In-Season Tournament champions, and after initial reports having the franchise on not thinking at all of hanging a banner for it, suddenly they have changed their minds.

While many fans believe the NBA with Adam Silver on the lead is pushing the purple and gold franchise to hang an IST banner to give more relevance to their new tournament, most of the older fans believe LA should stick to the tradition of only hanging NBA title championship banners and not for anything else.

The banner the Lakers will be hanging for the IST will be different than the NBA title ones, and it will be only one forever with the possibility of adding years depending on future championship wins of that competition.

Fans have been mad with this move and have re-released an old Kobe Bryant video showcasing the Lakers legend giving a clear message: "This franchise does not hang division banners. It does not hang conference championships. We hang one banner and one banner only and that's NBA titles."

Skip Bayless also doesn't agree with the Lakers hanging an IST banner

In today's episode of FS1 'Undisputed,' Skip Bayless went hard on the Lakers hanging a banner for their IST championship as he believes that fans are trying to make it count like a ring for LeBron. Fans believe that the NBA is the one pushing for the banner as the players have stated they are now focused on winning the real thing, title No. 18.
